John "Hootie" Brown

John E. “Hootie” Brown, 62, died Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 10:22 am at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN as a result of a automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 22, 2022 at 12 Noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday after 9 am. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate and Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. He was born on March 24, 1960 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Delmar Avery and Bonnie J. (Brown) Jennings. He was a 1979 Graduate of Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School, where he was a member of the basketball team that played in the state tournament. He loved to fish, deal with antiques and scrap. He is survived by his Son: Christopher (Adrienne) Brown of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Grandchildren: Alahna Brown and Carter Brown both of Harrisburg, IL; 4 Brothers: Victor Brown, Tony Brown and Marvin Brown all of Carrier Mills, IL and Edward Hopkins Jr of Harrisburg, IL; Wife: Darla Brown of Marion, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother: Carlos Brown; and 2 Step Brothers: Aaron Paul Gregory and Brent Hope Jennings.
