Josephine Funaro

Josephine “Jo” Funaro, 77, of Harrisburg, IL died Tuesday February 12, 2019 at 2:28 pm.   Graveside services will be held Friday February 15, 2019 at 11 am at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 until 10:30 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Father Steven Beatty will officiate.   She was born on June 16, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas and Theresa (Cervera) Cavaliere.   She married Anthony Funaro Sr. in 1959 and he preceded in death in 1996.   Jo did many things during her lifetime, she worked at Lutheran Family Services, was a foster parent for many years and most people knew her from her time at Walmart or when she worked at the  Dollar Saver.   Jo was also a member of the Harrisburg Town & Country Lions and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg, IL.   She is survived by her Daughter: Angel (Keith Turner) Ferrel of Harrisburg, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Michael (Serena) Ferrel, Anntoinette (Cody) Underwood and Anthony (Amber) Funaro III; 5 Great Grandchildren: Isaiah Underwood, Brianna Funaro, Zechariah Underwood, T.J. Funaro and Jeremiah Underwood; Sister: Louise Paone of Brooklyn, NY; Daughter In Law: Nina Sherrod; Former Son In Law: Randy Ferrel; Special Niece: Theresa “Tisa” (Phillip) Hunt; Special Friends: Linda and Gary Wisdom and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her Companion: Peanut.   Jo was preceded in deah by her parents, Husband: Anthony Funaro Sr.; Son: Anthony Funaro Jr.; Daughter: Gina Funaro and several brothers and sisters.
