Joshua E. “J.E.” Joyner, 75, of Stonefort, IL died Tuesday May 30, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 3, 2023 at 12 Noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 am until service time. Reverend Keith Bunfill will officiate. Burial will be in Joyner Cemetery near Stonefort, IL with military rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joyner Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Paul Appel, 20 Appel Road, Stonefort, IL 62987. He was born on November 29, 1947 in Stonefort, IL to the late Harry Levi and Charlene (Cummins) Joyner. He married the former Ann Williams in 1987 and she survives. He was an Disabled Army Veteran; Lifetime member of the D.A.V.; Lifetime member of the Carrier Mills American Legion Post 364 and a member of the Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church. He loved riding and using his tractor, spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching television. He is survived by his Wife: Ann Joyner of Stonefort, IL; 8 Children: Leitha (Riley) Patton of Metropolis, IL; Melissa (Roger) Pelker of Campbell Hill, IL; Joshua (Tommie Kay) Choate of Texas; Adam Brown of Elizabethtown, KY; Kathy White of Ziegler, IL; Eddie Joyner of Golconda, IL; Leslie Hendricks of Harrisburg, IL and Cortney (Michael) Perry of Carrier Mills, IL; 6 Siblings: Charles (Phyllis) Joyner of Stonefort, IL; Toni Lamb of Maryville, IL; Mona (Steve) Purdy of Stonefort, IL; Jerry (Teri) Joyner of Stonefort, IL; Ursula Martin of Stonefort, IL and Lee Joyner of Florida; Sister In Law: Beth Cummins of Elko, NV; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother: Steve Cummins; 2 Brother In Laws: Bill Lamb and Bill Martin.
