Judith A. Murphy, 85, of Carrier Mills, IL died at 2:45 am on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at her place of residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 am until service time with Reverend Kenneth Blumenstock officiating. Burial will follow services at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Judith was born on December 12, 1939 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Roy and Kathleen (Rice) Dearing. She married Billy L. Murphy on October 1, 1955. Judith loved crafting. She spent a lot of her free time creating from crocheting and knitting, to ceramics and painting beautiful portraits. She was also a faithful member of Christian Life Fellowship Church in Harrisburg, IL. She is survived by her husband: Billy Murphy of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 children, daughter: Debbie Newcomb of Harrisburg, IL; son: Bob Murphy of Ozark, IL; 2 granddaughters: Amy Munsell of Harrisburg, IL and Tamara Cook of Vincennes, IN; 3 great-granddaughters: Baily Cook of Charleston, IL, Mikayla Sumner and Natalie Pearl both of Harrisburg, IL; sister: Kathy Guillermo of Chicago Heights, IL, along with several nieces and nephews. Judith was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Kathleen Dearing; brothers: Dickie Dearing and Charles A. Dearing; and sister: Katie Allen. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Christian Life Fellowship Church.
