Lyman Deneen "Dean" Partain

Lyman Deneen "Dean" Partain, 72,of Carrier Mills and Eldorado, died Thursday July 20, 2023 at 6:00 am at his residence. Memorial graveside services will be held Monday July 24, 2023 at 11 am at Central Cemetery at County Road 625 East, Elizabethtown, IL. there will be no visitation, Masonic Rites and Military Rites will be held at the graveside. Reverend Harl Cockrum will officiate. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family.. He was born in Harrisburg, IL on November 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Lyman Lennard Partain and Martha Mae Atkinson. Dean served with distinction in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. An active member and Honor Guard of the Carrier Mills American Legion for almost 50 years, he was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. After returning home from service, he started his career working in construction and coal mining, eventually opening his own maintenance business. For the past 10 years he has been employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Highway Maintainer. Dean is survived by his wife, Brenda Faye Partain; son, Billy Dean Partain; stepdaughters Lori (Jason) Willis, Pam (Loren) Rogers, and Angie (Shannon) Rone. Lifelong friends Chris Field, Fred Hutson, and Dale Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Linda; stepdaughter Dana Parks and son-in-law Joseph Keenan.
