Michael Dale Wendler

Michael D. Wendler, 67, of Carrier Mills, IL died Tuesday November 16, 2021 at 8:41 pm at the Marion VA Medical Center in Marion, IL. Graveside services will be held Saturday November 20, 2021 at 1 pm at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Military rites will be performed by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legion and the U.S. Navy Ritual team. He was born on February 16, 1954 in Mt Vernon, IL to the late Rupert Eugene Wendler and Barbara Delane (Connor) Brannock. He married the former Billie Murray on June 22, 1991. Mike and Billie was such a fun couple always referring to each other as George and Gracie. Mike was a truck driver and diesel mechanic. He loved riding motorcycles, doing carpentry work and spending time spoiling the grandkids. Mike was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his Wife: Billie Wendler of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Sons: Michael (Kelly) Wendler Jr. and Marshall Watkins both of Harrisburg, IL; Brother: Ed (Lynn) Wendler of Coal City, IL; Sister: Twana (Jerry) Risley of Harrisburg, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Taylor, Cameron and Javen Wendler and Michael and Easton Watkins; Mother In Law: Sharon Murray of Harrisburg, IL; Brother In Law: Gordon (Julie) Murray of Harrisburg, IL and several nieces and nephews including Lindsey Garrett and Christian Murray. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
