Stephen Ray Choat, 66, of Harrisburg, IL died Thursday December 15, 2022 at 2:22 am at Linda E. White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. Graveside services will be held Monday December 19, 2022 at 11 am at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. There will be no visitation all friends should go directly to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anna Veterans Home. Military rites will be performed by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the Army National Guard Ritual Team. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family. He was born on September 29, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL to the late William A. “Bill” and Kathryn (Tolbert) Choat. He married Gigi Sullivan on November 18, 1989 and she survives. He was an Army Veteran. He had also been very active in the Harrisburg Lions Club and Harrisburg Masonic Lodge. He worked many years as a boilermaker until his retirement. He was a musician for many years in which he loved very much. He also loved spending time with his Grandkids; playing with his puppies and watching western movies. He is survived by his Wife: Gigi Choat of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Daughters: Dana (Danny) Hooven of Harrisburg, IL and Mandi (Troy) Felty of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: Jerry (Becky) Choat of Harrisburg, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Rachael Frailey, Cort Hooven and Kroy Felty; Brother In Law: Shannon Sullivan of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Sister In Laws: Kellie (Anthony) Eagles of Carrier Mills, IL and Jeannie Winters of Harrisburg, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 Brothers: Ricky Choat and Mike Choat and Grandson: Aaron Gunner Craig.
