Thelma B. Hanson

Thelma Hanson, 87, of Harrisburg, IL went home to be with the Lord at 8:30 am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at her place of residence. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday February 20, 2025 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will begin at 11 am until service time with Bishop Derek Eurales Sr. officiating. Burial will follow services at Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL. Thelma was born on June 3, 1937 in Lufkin, TX to the late Hadie and Lola (Bagley) Upshaw. She married Tommy Hanson on March 6, 1956, whom preceded her in death on November 4, 1995. Thelma spent many years working with, and retired from the U.S. Forest Service in the Shawnee National Forest. She was an active Boy Scouts mother and loved spending time in her garden. She remained an active and faithful member of First Opportunity Free Will Baptist church of Carrier Mills, IL. Thelma is survived by her 3 Sons: Wesley Hanson of Harrisburg, IL, Raeshawn Hanson of Carbondale, IL and Carl Hanson of TX; Daughter: Dorothy Tillman Tinsley; 2 Sisters: Erlene Fuller of Dallas, TX and Evia King of Dallas, TX; Brother: Charlie of Texas; and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hadie and Lola Upshaw; husband: Tommy Hanson; daughter: LaTonya Hanson and sister: Joyce Fraizer.
