Thomas Lee Farthing

Thomas L. Farthing, 75, of Harrisburg, IL passed away at 10:15 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, IL. His wishes were to be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time. Felty Funeral Home of Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.

Thomas was born on May 5, 1949 in Sturgis, KY to the late Thomas Farthing and Elizabeth (Quertermous) Hopson.

He married Elvina Farthing on June 18, 1974. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2025.

Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and member of the Harrisburg American Legion Post 167.

He is survived by his 2 Daughters: Brenda Ponville and Elizabeth Farthing both of Standard City, IL; Sister: Linda Kennett of Calvert City, KY; grandchildren: Michael Barrett, Clarrissa Means, Shawna Barrett, Jordan Allison, Dustin Allison, Aurora Vandygriff and Marcus Vandygriff.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Farthing and Elizabeth Hopson and sister, Laura Jane Tarrence.
