Thomas L. Mcdermott

Thomas L. McDermott, 63, of Carrier Mills, IL died Monday February 3, 2020 at 8:08 pm at Harrisburg Medical Center.   Visitation will be held Thursday February 6, 2020 from 5 to 7 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Masonic Rites will be held Thursday at 7 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Salem Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donors choice, envelopes will be available at funeral home.   He was born on October 25, 1956 to the late Leo William and Mary Virginia (Principe) McDermott.   He married the former Sue Clark on April 19, 1974 and she survives.   He attended Harrisburg High School and was a graduate of 1974. He worked for Peabody Coal Company until his retirement.   Tom was a member of the Carrier Mills Blazing Star 458 Masonic Lodge. He also loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors.   Tom is survived by his Wife: Sue McDermott of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Children: Tommy (Bianca) McDermott of Marion, IL and Christy (Clay) Johnson of Carrier Mills, IL; 8 Grandchildren: Christian (Nicole), Taylor, Zachary, Jennifer, Emilee, Olivia, Liam and Mary; 2 Great Grandchildren: Killian and Lillith; Brother: John (Debbie) McDermott of Stonefort, IL; 3 Sisters: Colleen Benson of Harrisburg, IL; Judy (Bob) Comer of Carrier Mills, IL and Nora Fitzgerald of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother In Law: Robert “Bob” Stillwell of Stonefort, IL; Special Cousin: Coralou Potter of Galatia, IL; Close Friend: Reva Dene Seets of Carrier Mills, IL and his trusty Dog: Toby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.   He was preceded in death by 2 Sisters: Cora Foster and Karen Sue Stillwell.
