Verba J. Brown

Verba J. Brown, 67, of Carrier Mills, IL died Saturday February 15, 2020 at 3:32 pm at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.   Funeral services will be held Thursday February 20, 2020 at 12 Noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 am until service time. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery and Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate.   Verba was born on January 31, 1953 to the late Ordway and Alta Jean (Norton) Taborn.   She married Victor Brown on May 23, 2004 in Marion, IL and he survives.   She graduated from Carrier Mills/Stonefort High School in 1971. Verba was also a member Galilee Baptist Church in Carrier Mills, IL. She retired as an Assistant manager from Southeastern Residental Alternatives in Harrisburg, IL, where she had worked for many years.   Verba was survived by her Husband: Victor Brown of Carrier Mills, IL; Son: Dustan Witherspoon of Carrier Mills, IL; Stepdaughter: April (Al) Scales of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Brothers: Glenn (Sue Mobley) Taborn of Norris City, IL and John Taborn of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Sisters: Audie Taborn of Carrier Mills, IL; Jeannie (Zack) Kendrick of Harrisburg, IL and Cheryl (Chuck) Drue of Harrisburg, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
