Vernie Eugene Dunn

Vernie Eugene Dunn, 81, of Carbondale, IL formerly of Delwood, IL, died Monday September 7, 2020 at 12:50 pm in Herrin Hospital. Graveside services will be held Friday September 11, 2020 at 12 Noon at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Friday after 11 am until service time at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. He was born on May 21, 1939 in Delwood, IL to the late Alfred and Nellie (Hill) Dunn. He married the former Shirley Williams on October 3, 1960 and she preceded in death on July 4, 2008. He was retired from Norge Appliance Company later becoming Maytag, he worked at the Herrin, IL plant for over 30 years. He loved to fish, listen to music and was a avid Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by 2 Sons: Randy (Krista Tregoning) Dunn of Marion, IL; Anthony (Angeline) Dunn of Carrier Mills, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Mercedes Robinson, Toni Benjamin, Victoria Sutton, Brayden Dunn, and Ariana Dunn; 6 Great Grandchildren: Emerson Robinson, Easton Robinson, Syllus Benjamin, Damon Benjamin, Atlas Benjamin and Lincoln Sutton; Nephew: Scott (Kim) Dunn of Carrier Mills, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Shirley Dunn, Son: Terry Dunn; Brother: Fred Dunn and Sister: Betty Andrews.
