Wanda Louise Chapman, 76, of Alton, IL formerly of Carrier Mills, IL died Tuesday August 25, 2020 at Saint Anthony's Medical Center in Alton, IL. Graveside services will be held Saturday August 29, 2020 at 10 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 9 am until service time at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Reverend Mary Day will officiate. She was born on April 2, 1944 in Carrier Mills, IL to the late William Maloy and Evangelene (Foreman) Cowper. She married Cager L. Chapman Sr. and he preceded in death on February 27, 2011. She was a retired school teacher and also worked at a state hospital for many years. She loved to cook, write poems and trace genealogy as well as she liked to learn. She is survived by her Daughter: Imee (Roger) Barfield of Godfrey, IL; 3 Stepchildren: Cager (Teresa) Chapman Jr. of West Memphis, Arkansas; Michelle Chapman of Alton, IL and Carol Sanders of Tupelo, MS; 3 Sisters: Margaret Covington of Alton, IL; Mary Maggaline Day and Lisa (Chet) Kuro both of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: Robert Cowper of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Brothers: William Charles Cowper and Clifford Cowper and Sister: Sonya Marie Cowper.
