Wanda Mae Wasson age 89, of Highland, IN passed away on Tuesday. January 16, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wasson of Highland, IN; the grandchildren and great grandchildren of her heart, Ericka Oberembt, Clark (Jessica) Oberembt, Charlotte and Elizabeth Oberembt, sister-in-law Karen (Arlie) Reynolds and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by her husband Jackie O. Wasson, parents J.D. and Mildred Reynolds, brothers R.J. and Claudia Reynolds, William Reynolds, Arlie Reynolds and J.D. (Barbara) Reynolds Jr. and sister Lu (John) Cavanaugh. Wanda was born on March 14, 1934 in Stonefort, IL. She married Jack Wasson on July 1, 1950. Wanda was a very dedicated member of Eastlake Baptist Church and after Jack's death in 1992, she traveled to many countries on mission trips. She loved teaching children about God on her trips or home in children's church and vacation bible school. She was an avid collector of EVERYTHING and loved her backyard pond, flower gardens, and doing multiple types of crafts. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 20224 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road Highland, IN. A Funeral Service will be held following the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday January 22, 2024 at 10 am at Bethesda Cemetery near Herod, IL. Reverend Scott Johnson will officiate. Felty Funeral Home is assisting with the local arrangements. There will be no local visitation, all family and friends should go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be made for Habitat for Humanity or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
