William Eugene "Gene" Bethel

Obituary William Eugene “Gene” Bethel, 57, of Harrisburg, IL died Friday September 23, 2022 at 11:57 pm at Deaconess Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 28, 2022 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday after 11 am, Eastern Star Rites will be held at 12:30 pm followed by Masonic Rites prior to the funeral service. Reverend Glenn Lewis will officiate and Burial will be in Joyner Cemetery near Stonefort, IL. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Gene was born on September 1, 1965 in Champaign, IL. Gene worked as a cement mason for many years, he also spent time in the coal mines and also as a truck driver. He was a member of the Old Stonefort Seventh Day Baptist Church; Stonefort Eastern Star #31 and the Stonefort Masonic Lodge #495. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and hiking. Gene is survived by his Parents: Bill & Sue Bethel of Harrisburg, IL; Daughter: Amanda (Earl) Stenlund of Durham, NC; 2 Sisters: Kim (Mike) Buchanan of Harrisburg, IL and Kristin (Scott) Nicotra of Wentzville, MO; 2 Brothers: Randy (Mary) Bethel of Evansville, IN and Steve Bethel of Eldorado, IL; 2 Grandchildren: Allie & James Stenlund of Durham, NC. He was preceded in death by 2 Wives: Kathy Thompson Bethel and Belinda Mallady Bethel.
