Shirley Jones

Shirley Jones, 86, of Harrisburg, IL died Sunday January 22, 2023 at 6:15 am at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 26, 2023 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 am until service time. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL. Reverend Keith Owens and Reverend Jeff Owens will officiate. Shirley was born on November 23, 1936 in Saline County, IL to the late Ralph and Lucille (Jones) Owens. She married Bobby J. Jones Sr on July 13, 1955 and he preceded in death on October 24, 2016. She attended Harrisburg High School and later worked many years at State Farm Insurance in Harrisburg, IL. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church and also taught Sunday School there for many years. She also attended Bankston Fork Baptist Church. She was also the founder and a member of The Neighborhood Club of Carrier Mills, IL. She was most proud of raising her 7 children and spending time with them and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her Children: Sherry (D.A.) Sutton of Newburgh, IN; Cindy (Kelly) Knight of Harrisburg, IL; Dickie (Tina Griffith) Jones of Harrisburg, IL; Toni (Bill) Shadrick of Nebo, KY; Joni (Patrick) Saulsberry of Harrisburg, IL and Davy (Lori) Jones of Harrisburg, IL; Daughter In Law: JoAnn Jones of Harrisburg, IL; 14 Grandchildren: Jared Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Josh Knight, Shanna Knight, Lindsay Fulbright, Lacey Dearing, Jason Jones, Shelly Molinarolo, Clint Jones, Carrie Williams, Tierra Jones, Isaiah Saulsberry, Morgan Gulley and Madyson Jones; and 14 Great grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Norman (Joyce) Owens of Marion, IL and Larry (Mary) Owens of Clay City, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband: Bobby Jones Sr.; Son Bobby Jones Jr. and Sister: Betty Tanner.
